Seriously? You're in Portland? We lived there (Milwaukee and Oregon City) for a couple years, then moved to Bend in 2001.

Things to try:

Go down the 205 South to McLoughlin Blvd. Go west just down the hill and on the left is "Busters BBQ". Its' the best BBQ town. It's cafeteria style (you walk through a line with a tray), the meat is cut right in front of you and has an amazing fire pit.

If you keep going down McLoughlin, there's "Lacey's Bomber". It's a great restaurant with a huge B-17 airplane out front they have been restoring for years.

If you go out towards the Dalles, you can get off on the Lewis Clark highway and drive through the waterfall tour. There are several different waterfalls along the road. There are signs off the Dalles Highway for it. There is a great restaurant at Multnomah Falls. It's pricey, so maybe you and Kelly can go. But, you can sit at the windows and watch the Falls. There is a ton of hiking trails all along the falls road.

Otherwise, in town and right by you is Chevy's. Great, great Mexican food.

OH! And for Christmas you HAVE to go to this Christmas tree farm. You cut your own, they have a full farm you can tour (alot of the schools there go every year for the tour in Nov and Dec). It's a family owned place and the trees are gorgeous. And really well priced. We got a 17 ft (we had tall ceilings) for around 40 bucks. And they delivered. I'll have to get directions. It's in Oregon City. If not, you can drive out towards Molalla and there are tons of tree farms that are all cut your own. They provide saws.

A great day trip is Bend. Winter or summer, there is a ton to do. Fishing, hiking, skiing, boating (East Lake is the best). Or you can drive the Cascade Lakes Highway, see lots of lakes, and lots of deer and wildlife.

Ok, tour over. LOL

Hope you guys have a great time there. Praying for ya!
